Welcome to the Rev War Home.com website. My name is Josh. I'm your resident 18th century history buff, website maintenance techie, cigar smoking webmaster, among other things... I created this website because I could not find any American Revolution based websites that appealed to me. I figured I could tell the story better while at the same time covering a whole spectrum of topics. Now don't get me wrong there are many sites on the net that talk in great detail about the various subjects concerning the war. I felt I could tell that story better.
I originally got into researching the American Revolution several years ago. I guess you could say it stems from having an interest in the American Civil War. One of the first American Revolution related books I bought was the Encyclopedia of the American Revolution by Mr. Mark M. Boatner III. I highly recommend picking up this book. The book has over 1,200 pages and covers a wide range of topics pertaining to the study of the American Revolution in general. I'm also using this book as a basis of information for this website.
Things I enjoy doing in my spare time include smoking cigars, listening to various types of music, hanging out with my biker friends. I also enjoy researching Military & American history. I have an interest in the American Revolution & Civil War, as well as local Detroit, and Organized Crime history mostly the prohibition era in Chicago and Detroit. My hobbies and interests change from time to time. In the past I've done Civil War reenacting, metal detecting, Radio control cars, & grave hunting. Out of all the hobbies I've taken part in I have the most experience with the grave hunting. It coincides with my love of history. I have a woman her name is Kelly she's the love of my life. If your interested you can check out Kelly's bio just click on the photo of me and her at the bottom of this page...
If you wish to get in contact with me perhaps you have some nice things you'd like to say about this site, questions about certain topics on the site... Or if you'd like to say hey feel free to email me. You will find my contact information on the main page. |
